Trey had way too much stress on his shoulders plain and simple. Phish used
to be about 4 key musicians, a lighting director, a sound director, a
manager, and a road manager.

Take a serious look at this message and read on. This is not about music
anymore from my perspective....

LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THIS FREAKING LIST , these people directly depended on
their livelyhood from Trey, Mike, Jon, and Page!!!

Julian Watkins, Lighting Crew Chief
Kevin Brown, Keyboard Tech
Brendan Wahlberg, Dry Goods
Jason Colton, Dionysian Productions media relations
Jason Stenta, Dry Goods

Rob O'Dea, Dionysian Productions
Mark Reinke, Stage Manager
Eric Larson
John Paluska, Phish's manager and head of Dionysian Productions
Cynthia Brown, retired from Dionysian Productions
Hadden Hippsley, Production Manager
Brett Hughes, Dry Goods
Paul Ingwerson, Rigger
Megan Saver, Dionysian Productions
Beth Montuori, Dionysian Productions
Karen Drabkin, Dry Goods
Nichole Alexander, Dry Goods
Elizabeth Meyer, Caterer
Lisa Sharpe, "Eat Your Hearts Out" Catering (Phish's catering)
Mark "Bruno" Bradley, monitor engineer
John Langenstein, Phish Security Director (aka "Head of Security")
Bart Butler, Venue Security Director (aka "Head of House Security")

Shelly Culbertson, Dionysian Productions ticket goddess
Tavi Black, Lighting Technician
Chris Russo, Audio Technician

Henry Schwab, Waterwheel (formerly Green Crew)
Matty Beck, works for Henry and Waterwheel

Don't forget to add to that:

Jon Fishman- his family, etc
Mike Gordon- his family, etc
Page Mc Connel- his family, etc..

That is a lot of PRESSURE for one man to carry. Roughly you are looking at
73 but without knowing the families and children connected to all of the
above you could say that easily 200 people directly depended on Phish for
their paychecks.

What I see above is the most removed description in the world I can think of
as a "4 Man Rock Band"

THAT IS A FRIGGIN CORPORATION..

Mosst of this sitting on top of a very "intangible" talent of a guitarist
and singer
named TREY ANASTASIO.. Saying that this is not the case means that you could
take the singer from Rusted Root and replave him for Trey and stil call it
Phish and they could play the same venues , etc...

It is one thing if this was another type of business
that made shoes or some TANGIBLE thing.. Talent is intangible.

If I was the key player that provided the income that had that many mouths
to feed above, not to mention to worry about ...............MY GUITAR TONE
MIGHT BE A LITTLE OFF. More so, witht hat much stress directly put on trey's
shoulders - he well might need to medicate that stress witht he wrong
things..

Sorry you phans had a muddy weekend or a few concerts ruined, but I guess
one
mans sanity and health are Ok to forsake for a "Smoking REBA"

Cast the first stone..................

Can you imagine the resentment towards Trey within that organization when he
called for the hiatus the hiatus and then decided to call it day ??

It had to be unbelivable....Call it conspiratorial but you wonder if Paul
was angry at Trey and perhaps the other band members and all of a sudden
effects, delay pedals, guitars being tuned properly might start start coming
up wrong...

Confronted with a "alleged" drugged frontman perhaps they said "hey if he is
out of it-I am going to make his guitar mix sound the shit, etc..and we are
not going to play in the zone"

The whole "we don't practice enough anymore" does not seem to add up to me..
How much time did Phish truly spend practicing during 95-99???

I loved Coventry weekend.. I'm sure the 4 members of the band have more
money than they could possible spend, so I dont feel too sorry for them. As
for the rest of the crew, they get to have the wonderful experience of
getting 'real' jobs. Just a part of life.

I got a grip and got a "long descriptive gripe" from someone on that list of
"employees". Phish believe IT or not is not "officially" over.

There will be 100% another Phish concert ( using the definition of the 4
members in Phish) barring any health problems with band members.

You will most likely will NOT see "PHISH" on the ticket stub.

On the stage you will see.

Page Mc Connell
Trey Anastasio
Jon Fishman
Mike Gordon

and perhaps some "new" musicians.

There will not be a list of 73 employed people like this post started with.

Get agrip on the fact that the "organization" had a LOT to do with Phish
ending...

Phish yes, is most likely OVER.

The musicians involved in that "quartet" will play again together..

Oh and by the way if anyone you are intrested that end of tour festival in
2003 called "IT"
was meant to be:

"This is IT" IE: = Last Show , the end....

Because of legal probs and financial "thank you's" to most of that huge list
of "employees" more dates were added as a final end of band "bonnus check"
if that makes sense.

My source said that "IT" was intended to be "IT" the end and an announcement
was to be made after that fest. but a decision was made to do what I wrote
in the lines directly above...

So, we will all have another reason to go to concerts just to 'party?'

did your "source" mention anything about disgruntled employees
sabotaging Trey's equipment, like you suggested, or did you pull that
one out of your ass, too?

c'mon art, back off this guy.

didn't you get the memo telling you that when somebody drops down some
hard-to-believe anonymous info of enormous consequence, you're supposed to
take it at face value and spread it to as many people as possible?

I am fully supportive of gossip that harms the band members, but when
roadies and technicians are slandered, I get pissed!

PHiSH happened to me after I had gotten the romance of "touring" out of
my system. I found great inspiration in the 4 guys (and a sound guy,
light guy, and a road manager) in a couple of vans that pulled into my
favorite club 13 years ago and made music that lit me up like a Xmas
tree.
When the thing became a reason for masses of people to tour and vend, it
made somewhat sad. I mean I was happy for the band's success, because
they were good enough to deserve it. Yet I felt the ominous presence
that eventually weighed down on Trey and the band. PHiSH was never about
the scene around a tour for me. It was the music they made, and I still
listen to it every day.

Maybe it is just me, but I would rather have my friends and people I know
looking after my shit, instead of some 22 yr old kid straight out of Full Sail
rigging my lights and setting up my equipment. It would be like if some random
person was taken care of hockey players gear. How are they going to know that
Messier wears the extra small cup or that Hull changes his teeth every period.
Larger venues=larger payroll.
